Welcome to RainbowRidge Rescue. My work with rescue has been on-going throughout my entire life. As a child I was the one always dragging a critter home to love. When told it couldn't stay I began diligently looking for a new home. Although this rarely happened there were many dogs that drifted through our home. Advance a few years in my life and I continued my love of training and showing dogs. Many dogs came into our lives as a result of our family's love of dogs and our involvement in the 4-H program. After showing mastiffs for 7 years I began looking for a breed to enjoy obedience and agility with as well as conformation. After years of research and waiting for the right time we added our first belgian tervuren to our home in 2005. This led me to the Belg-L listserv for information on training the breed. I then began to see many posts asking for assistance with rescued belgian malinois and with an email to the coordinator, a new phase of our lives began. In one weekend I was thrust into the fostering of two belgian malinois and a mastiff. Tah Dah- I've finally figured out what I'm supposed to be doing and the birth of RainbowRidge Rescues began.
